Automatic Codeword Solving Program

For those of you who are struggling to solve a codeword puzzle, look no further!

We've recently added an online codeword solving tool to the site, which can be accessed on our codeword solver page.

This tool does what it says on the tin - you enter the codeword puzzle into the grid, enter any given letters - and then click solve.

If we can solve the puzzle, then the solution will be given to you in a matter of seconds.

Please note that there are two main reasons why the tool will fail to give a solution: the first of these is the incorrect entry of the details. Unfortunately there is quite a bit of detail to enter for each puzzle as you need to enter the numbers in each of the squares of the grid. If you can think of a quicker or easier way to input these then please let us know and we'll look to add the feature.

The second reason that can lead to a solution not being found is due to the solution for your puzzle requiring words that are proper nouns and so not in the dictionary: this solver uses a very extensive dictionary of English words, but does not include proper nouns (eg place names, brand names, names of websites, many phrases and so on).

If you find puzzles that do use proper nouns and so forth that this tool doesn't solve, then please let us know if it would be useful to add the facility to solve those puzzles too (and examples of the sorts of proper nouns you would like added to the dictionary).

We hope you find the tool both interesting and useful - as far as we're aware it is the only full codeword solver online, whilst other solver tools out there will help you solve individual words, this one will enable you to solve the entire codeword online through the one simple program and interface.
