Spatial Awareness Puzzles
One of the great things about puzzles is that different types of puzzles exercise and test different areas of the mind. Spatial awareness mind games are an interesting case in point because many people who find maths, english and logic puzzles quite straightforward can really struggle with puzzles that involve manipulating shapes and space in their head.Mind games in the spatial awareness category will usually involve simple diagrams and ask you to notice a pattern or to perform some mental rearranging of the information presented in order to solve the puzzle.
Some people seem to be able to 'see' the solution to these puzzles straight away, whilst for others without practice even when they know the solution they struggle to be able to see it in their head.
Here is a sample spatial awareness puzzle. See if you can work out which three numbered circles must be moved in order to make the triangle point down rather than up?
If you are unsure then draw it on paper and experiment with making changes until you find the answer. With practice you can improve greatly your mental dexterity in solving this sort of puzzle and improve your spatial awareness as a result.
