Code Puzzles Challenge - Can You Crack the Codes?

If you like code puzzles and trying to crack codes then we hope you'll enjoy our new series of ten videos each containing a code to crack that get gradually harder as you work your way through the series of puzzles. The first few videos are now available on youtube - here is a link to the first challenge which will then link through to the rest of the puzzles in the series as and when they are released:

The puzzles start gently so the first few codes should be accessible to children as well as adults, and the difficulty ramps up as the series progresses. Here's a hint for the first puzzle: you need to shift each letter in the code up or down the alphabet by one position - can you work out which way?

There are a range of different codes across the ten code-breaking challenges in the series, and you will need to use a variety of skills to crack them, together with some persistence and a little lateral thinking at times too. If you get stuck on the harder ones then don't give up, sleep on it and try coming at it from a different angle, or even discuss with others and pool ideas to work out how best to tackle it. With the harder ones you might need to try a few different approaches in order to find the correct methodology to decrypt the method and reveal the plaintext.
