Consecutive Sudoku

Consecutive Sudoku Instructions:
Here's how to play Consecutive Sudoku:
Place the numbers from 1 - 9 once in each row, column and 3x3 box in the puzzle grid.

In addition, bars between adjacent cells indicate that the values in those cells are consecutive (e.g. 1 and 2) - use this additional information to help solve the puzzle.

Consecutive Sudoku - The Fun Variant!

Consecutive sudoku are definitely one of the most enjoyable of all of the sudoku variants. The rules are very simple and readily understood with just one addition to the solving mix, but a compelling one at that - the information that certain cells contain consecutive values.

Particulary interesting about this variant is how very interesting chains of consecutive cells can form, and the inferences that can be drawn from these that may not be instantly obvious.

The interplay between the runs of consecutive cells and the ordinary sudoku rules can make for a very interesting and enjoyable solve with surprising depth from the introduction of just one additional rule.

Of course, some moves are obvious: where there is a 1 with a bar next to it, then you know that adjacent cell contains 2, and with a 9 equally it is an 8. In other cases of course there will be two numbers: for instance the cell next to a 7 marked with a bar (in the absence of other information) can be a 6 or an 8.

By working your way through all the standard sudoku solving rules and then taking into account the additional information made available by the consecutive regions and using them frequently to help you reduce the options for other cells, then a consecutive sudoku becomes an enjoyable logical solve.

As with all sudoku-type puzzles, they have one single solution that can be reached through the application of logical rules alone with no guesswork required.
