What techniques will help me solve an A - Z crossword?
The key technique is really just to use your knowledge of vocabulary and letter patterns.
For instance, a 'q' and a 'u' virtually always go together, so if there happens to be a 'q' already in the grid with a blank after it then there is a very high chance that is the 'u'.
Some words will be more complete than others so again take the time to scan the grid to look for words that are almost complete and perhaps only have one possible word that will fit.
Just be careful not to think there is only one possible word when infact there is more than one, as this could lead to an incorrect solution!
It is a moot point whether A to Z puzzles should only have one solution or not - the answer to this seems to vary from publisher to publisher.
