What solving strategies help with pathfinder puzzles?

The key strategy is, with a puzzle where you are not given the words in advance, to spend some time thinking what possible words will appear in the grid before even looking in the grid.

Once you have a few candidates, try to find one of these in the grid. Almost certainly one of those will be there, and then you have your 'in'.

Knowing that the words must follow on from each other then look at the first and last letter of that word you have found, and see what other possible words you can find off that word.

This will be enough to get you started and into the puzzle, and then it is just a case of following the path around the grid to find all the words on that particular theme.
